New Workshops Posted

I've updated my calendar with workshops on the schedule for the rest of 2024, and I'm already booking some for 2025! The one I'm most excited about are these 2-hour mini letterpress workshops I'm giving on site at Citizen Vinyl. These will be the first letterpress workshops offered in Asheville since our beloved Asheville Bookworks closed in 2019. In these workshops, folks will get a chance to set their own type and then print on my 1887 Chandler and Price Old-Style press, Ernestine. There's been a letterpress revival as an art form in the last 20 years, but there's always a chance that these specialized skills might disappear, so it's so important for me to get type into hands and give folks a chance to feel how it's done.

Along with letterpress workshops, I'll also be teaching crankie workshops and one on wood engraving at the NC Arboretum, where we can get inspiration from the beautiful gardens. All workshop are good for beginners. I hope to see you at one of these, and let me know if you have an idea for another future workshop!
