Speak No Evil
Speak No Evil
“Speak No Evil” is a reinterpretation of the Buddhist philosophy that's usually seen paired with monkeys covering their faces, as guidance to avoid evil in order to live a pure life. Instead of avoiding evil, in this print I protect from evil using what I’m capable of and what I have; in this case, protecting wolves with hand crafted knits. Will this be enough to protect us from evil?
This print was made using the reduction cut method on a linoleum block, meaning only one block was used for every layer printed. I start by cutting and printing the lightest layer, printing the full edition plus extras. Then I cut back into the same block and print the next color, and repeat until the full print is finished. For this print, I cut and printed 5 layers.
Limited edition of 58, 12" x 12", each print is signed and numbered. Ships flat in a protective sleeve.
